Our Story
I am Kelise Parker, the owner of Open Chair Restaurant Consulting Company. I have always had a passion for restaurants… how they operate, how they grow, what are new and exciting things that can let them flourish more than before. Because of that passion, I created Open Chair. I wanted to take the next step and help local restaurants thrive because our local communities are extremely important.
The Open Chair name stemmed from the welcoming, hospitable atmosphere of a restaurant, “there’s always a seat for you here”. Just like at God’s table, there’s always an open chair available for anyone who wants to come sit in His house. Hospitality stems from Jesus. He invited and welcomed everyone that came to Him – Matthew 25:35. That’s why I connect so much with the Hospitality industry, it is a space where people bond, create memories, and gather.
I studied Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management at Texas Tech University and graduated with honors. I then received training through one of the top restaurant sales companies in the nation. Through other job opportunities I have had hundreds of restaurants, delis, bakeries, etc… as clients and consulted them in developing their restaurants to their full potential. I am also certified in Business Excellence through the Disney Institute. I have run many social media platforms as well as upheld website platforms and consistently created from scratch marketing materials for various companies. I even owned my own bakery from 2016-2019. Lastly, I was in the catering business for an NFL team and have been in the professional event planning business for five years.
All to say, I have the business experience, the training, and the passion to help our local restaurants succeed in exponential ways!
